HEAD OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Location: LOOS Eurasanté Biohealth Park (on the LILLE Hospital campus – North of France).
Responsible for the management of the Patent portfolio, you will act as Intellectual property Advisor to the General Management and will contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
In collaboration with the IP team, you will directly liaise with the R&D and Business Development Departments and will conduct the assessment and management of all IP interests of the company at a global level.
Job description:
- to ensure protection of the inventions (drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the fields of biotechnologies, organic chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences)
- to analyze freedom to operate - to detect patent infringements and build corresponding case
- to manage patent litigation - to manage trademarks and web domains - to manage patent portfolio (> 360 patents or patent applications)
- to sensitize and inform operational employees on the key issues of intellectual property
- to advise and assist R&D staff and Management in protecting and defending their innovations
- to advice and follow due diligence actions (licensing-in, licensing-out)
- to manage the IP team (1 patent attorney, 1 patent attorney assistant) and reinforce the staff
- to follow the budget and administrative procedures of the IP department
Key Requirements & Qualifications:
- scientific background (PhD or Master), preferably in Biology, with graduation from the International Patent Law School (CEIPI)
- authorized European Patent Attorney
- at least 10 years experience
- enthusiastic leader able to lead, motivate and develop the IP team
- you are fluent in spoken and written English.
